Pet Safe Electric Heated Cat Beds for Healthier Happier Pets

Keep your little kitty warm during the cold winter months with these great Electric Heated Cat Beds. Heated beds are recommended by veterinarians for all cats.

Although some think of a heated cat bed as an indulgent luxury for pampered pets, it really is a necessity for all cats, especially those who live where the winters are cool.

Why Cats Need Heated Beds

A cat’s normal body temperature is 102 degrees (F). Because their body temperature is higher than humans, they need a warmer place to sleep. A heated bed will help your cat maintain her or his body temperature and keep their immune system healthy.

If your pet is older, the heat is therapeutic for joint pain and joint stiffness and especially helps if your pet has arthritis. However, you shouldn't wait for your cat’s immune system to be compromised or until s/he becomes arthritic before getting your cat a heated bed. It makes far more sense to get it now and forestall or possibly even prevent temperature related health problems -- and all for less than the cost of one average visit to the vet.

Alternatives to Electrically Warmed Cat Beds

Despite their high safety ratings and energy efficient low operating cost, some cat parents are still wary of electrically heated cat beds or need a warm spot for their cat to snuggle in during car or camping trips.

Although these alternatives do not necessarily provide as steady or long-lasting heat as thermostatically controlled heated pet beds and mats, they do help cats to retain more body heat and sleep more comfortably than they would with no way to increase warmth, and you do not need proximity to an electrical outlet to use them.
